Gold price traditionally does poorly when interest rates go up, so if US Fed is getting close to starting a 1-2yr rate raising cycle then that is not a bullish sign for gold. Obviously there's other factors, but unless you can point to things you think are changing, everything else roughly the same but interest rates higher would be unlikely to be good.
