Crypto and gold most definitely did not crash in unison, crypto has been on the slide for months. If we take bitcoin as a measure it has lost close to half its value since November. Gold had been slowly inching in the other direction, only dropping in the last few days in response to Powell. The behaviour of gold and cryptos has been worlds apart.
