OK, I probably over simplified in a futile attempt to explain something to another poster, but I did not mean to imply that crypto and gold declines were completely synchronised with each other or the market.
My point was that both gold and cryptos are correlated with the sharemarket, and do not act as hedges to market crashes.
Crypto, being more speculative, seems to be a leading indicator to a market crash.
Gold tends to fall after a sharemarket correction has begun, probably getting sold to meet margin calls.
