Gold stocks generally all crashed today, EVN more so than NST. I think a lesson to be learned with NST and gold is to take zero notice of all the people that ramp up NST and forecast a steep rise in the POG. It's just not happening and NST's SP seems destined to languish under $10 for a long time. I cursed myself last year for selling some NST at $12.50, then cursed myself even more for not selling at $17. As a 10 year holder, I am probably doing quite well out of dividends given the price I originally paid, but this is no compensation for the pummelling that the SP is taking now. Gold seems to have lost its attraction as a hedge against market crashes and other negative financial events - at least, gold producers have declined in the face of a fairly reasonable POG. This is a very disappointing day.
