I think most women would like to be able to afford to stay home to nurture the children particularly when they are young. However, thats the problem most cant afford it. In fact I think that some of the new age men would be happy to do so if they could afford it. Some do particularly where the woman may be a higher earner and that is financially the better option
The other aspect is that the old way of the man being the provider placed the woman in a potentially subservient role as used to exist in days gone by and still exists in many countries that are often complained about on these threads.
I welcome the new world and the greater equality that woman and understanding men have fought hard for here in Australia.
