Good post Grafton. Makes a lot of sense as to where western society is likely headed.
In fact, its quite a timely post given what I by chance witnessed a few weeks ago through a real life example, which I will share with fellow posters as I think it relevant to this topic, and will show that what goes around comes around.
A few weeks ago I by chance bumped into a female acquaintance I hadn't seen in over 20 years. She actually noticed me as I couldn't initially recognize her because she had changed so much. We started talking and sat down for a cup of coffee and catch up and the story she told me bowled me over.
In her younger years she was a staunch feminist and quite active in that role. It was always womens rights this and womens rights that with her. I just could not believe how things have changed with her. She went on to tell me how if she could she would reverse everything she did and stood for previously, and how detrimental to a healthy functioning society feminism is.
She went on to tell me that she had parted with her male partner of 8 years whom she had a son with(and by the way acknowledged he was a wonderful man and regrets not having a life with him and treating him so badly). As she put it..."I was a complete bitch and made him pay dearly for my own misgivings. I kept his son away from him, and took him to the cleaners and I didn't even flinch at my own dishonest and dishonorable behavior".
She went on to tell me how she had brought up her son in the feminist ideology. That he was a shining example of the modern day white knight that any woman would be proud to call her own.
Here is the clincher folks..... The son grew up and fell in love with a feminist who also took him to the cleaners and refused to let him have contact with his children. Although in this case the situation gets worse because the son ultimately committed suicide, lost all his and his mothers worldly possessions to this woman, and the mother of this son (she had so worshiped) will never get to see him or her grand kids. But it gets even worse folks.....all this stress and anguish took its toll and she went on to tell me that she was recently informed by her doctor that she has terminal cancer and will be dead within 3 months.
Surprisingly she was upbeat about that fact and said....
"If I had my chance again I wouldn't repeat a thing I did. I was completely wrong and off the beaten track and I am getting off easy. I am glad I realized this before my death and have instructed my solicitor to have on my gravestone inscribed the words.... "I am truly sorry" rather than RIP"
