NEW YORK CITY — Topsy-turvy weather is sending New Yorkers from balmy spring temperatures into the depths of winter in a span of just five days.
Snow is expected next weekend, starting early Saturday morning and falling until late that night, according the National Weather Service. Accumulation levels aren't known, but it's expected to mix with rain.
It comes just days after record heat topped off at 68 in Central Park, two degrees higher than the previous record for that date and 30 degrees higher than what's normal.
The freak heatwave saw people basking in city parks wearing shorts in the middle of January.
Temperatures will fall steadily this week and will dip below freezing on Thursday night, the NWS said.
