Recently I wrote to Boeing asking why all aircraft built don't have the inside of the outer skin tattooed in a grid of individual numbers and letters . My belief is that it would assist in 1. Identifying the aircraft itself in the case of pieces washing ashore after a crash or misadventure. 2. Would assist in reconstructing a wreckage if the numbers and letters corresponded to certain areas of the fuselage.
I got no acknowledgement or reply.....neither did I expect any , but it seems ridiculous that they find a piece of wreckage and have to speculate what part of which plane it might be. The solution doesn't seem so difficult to me. Maybe it's a simplistic view but I thought I would put it out there for discussion. Any thoughts Copperites?
