I take it you people are discussing the JORN OHR system. Jindalee OHR in the North of Australia?
People I have spoken to indicate that it is pretty much a failure as a reliable detection system and is all but shut down.
Its a HF system and at best would have a limited time frame where it would be capable of detecting anything during any day.
Very susceptible to Sun spot activity and the changing of the Ionosphere during such times as sunrise and sunset and any other time like sunspot periods and probably electrical storms. HF is a difficult system at the best of times.
Given that in the event of a large scale war there will probably be an EMP like a low yield nuclear weapon detonated in the upper atmosphere OHR would be useless along with any other HF system.
JORN was more of an experiment than anything else.
