Shares of Roche jumped 60 percent in the past year as the company benefited from Tamiflu, which may work against avian influenza. On Wednesday, Roche said that Tamiflu brought in 1.6 billion Swiss francs, or $1.2 billion, last year.
Glaxo shares have gained 21 percent in the past year on demand for its Relenza flu treatment, the only other drug that has shown promise against bird flu.
