taking out the high of the bar to the left

ie. its taking out all the trapped holders from that old area (silly billy's)

as well its possibly taking out (absorbing) the shorts who have been holding since then,

thats why you need good volume (but be wary of how much volume arrives, as you could be looking at a trap with new supply arriving) on the breakout bar or SOS

on the chart below is a good example of what to look for

but it would've been better if your breakout bar had closed on its high, but it doesn't need to be perfect

the 2bars that follow up the breakout are backtesting, note the reduced volume/spread (no more sellers)

then the fourth bar moves off higher on increased volume/spread closing high (thats a low risk time to buy)
