Jeeps, I was watching when it happened on DOW yesterday but I went back and took a look at the trades leading up to it. I am convinced that a trader meant to put in a large order for 3.03 or 3.13 and hit 3.30 instead. It all happened over seconds but that could be just the system spelling out the different orders being sucked up by a massive buy order way above current trading price (unsure of that theory but anyway).
