Hi Niu I remember doing Chemistry experiments at Uni long ago such as dropping Sodium or Lithium into water to see what happened. The reaction was quickly exothermic (gives off a lot of heat) as the element reacts with the water happily on its own without any help. Blew my eyebrows off. As a Civil Engineer, I would like to say that Engineers are a very conservative lot. I have faith that the makers of car batteries will find out how to make them safe as was done the the internal combustion engine in the past. Also enjoy reading your thoughtful words.
