The difference between vocal shareholders and the board and its officers, is that the latter have far more, if not all, of the facts at their disposal and have to discharge their duty prudently as officers of those shareholders, in the full light of those facts - which by definition simple shareholders are most unlikely to be party to. Management is accountable for the management decisions they make. Opinionated shareholders are not. (And if they do have more facts than would be expected, then they are likely to be attempting to sway other interested parties based on what would have to be considered to be insider knowledge. And who can know why they would be doing that?)
It comes down to the fact that shareholders can use HC as a pulpit to pummel the management into doing what in their (uninformed) opinion management "ought" to be doing that would make them happy.
Personally I'm more inclined to think management DOES enjoy a more informed position, and as a result of that they are probably doing everything that can be done, in the right order and in the most prudent time frame. I look forward to the first JetPacks rolling off the production line at some point in the near future, fully optimised and tested, and with all the right approvals, ready for service and public prominence. Then at least I will know that somebody has not been shooting from the hip half cocked.
