Whilst the market is now digesting last night's news about KuangChi Science's NZ$23.7 million injection into MJP, there are additional announcements being made:
1) Latest MJP net result was a (surprising) profit of NZ$4.9 million, after taking account non-cash derivative movements.
2) Warbirds over Wanaka at the end of this month (March 2016) will attract an estimated 65,000 visitors, with MJP now preparing for a 'live show', verses a 'static display', as was the case in most previous air show participations.
3) MJP will attend the DefExpo 2016 in Goa, India (static display) via its alliance partner M2K Technologies, also being held at the end of this month (March 2016).
4) New wind shielded flight test facility for MJP under construction in NZ.
5) Aquisition of new software & 2 thrust rigs for engine testing. One rig has been sent to the UK where an alternative engine is being developed, the other rig remains in New Zealand.
Having suddenly increased its holding in MJP to 52%, KuangChi Science has now also increased its voting rights. Therefore, my other theory that MJP could be ingested into a larger airframe manufacturer (i.e. Lockheed Martin) is now likely off the table. Although I still think that this would have been a great marriage. Most likely KuangChi Science will aim to increase its stake in MJP in the future and this would most likely occur on market, with them purchasing shares, rather than exercising existing options. With the extremely low daily trading volume in MJP, any increases in share transactions will have a large impact on the share price.
All cards have now been reshuffled and a brand new game has started.
