CP is not going to scare anyone away if they like the look of the assets, it was these assets that has after all attracted CP, so why would it not also make them more curious and interested. Knowing the board would like to produce a rabbit out of the hat before the meeting might might feel that may help them to get a deal across the line quicker. CP only has 5% or thereabouts so I doubt he would be seen as a major threat to a JV partner.
