"Exploration potential in Queensland
The distribution of scandium in Queensland was tested during a national drainage geochemical survey (Tang and Brown, 2011). The survey shows several drainage systems in Queensland with anomalous scandium concentrations in the sediments. At this stage there has been no testing to determine the source of the scandium. One possible scenario is the streams sampled drain laterite profiles which can concentrate scandium. These data suggest there is potential for more discoveries in Queensland if the predicted surge in demand eventuates."
