Because our leading LICs (e.g. MLT, CHO, ARG, AUI, DUI) hold large amount of cash and have stable income streams, they're able to pay reliable dividends to shareholders (equal to, or greater than, those of the previous year). Assuming all of these LICs pay equal dividends to last year, they are currently all trading at excellent fully franked dividend yields:

ARG: 7.9%
AUI: 7.2%
CHO: 8.6%
DUI: 8.1%
MLT: 8.7%

Considering you'd be lucky to get 5%pa from a term deposit, these yields are looking pretty good.
