Its not easy running mining operations in Africa. In a recent report Iluka (mineral sands) said of its operations in Sierra Leone:
"Sierra Rutile continues to experience acute operational challenges, impacting efforts to achieve operational consistency. This includes the ability to maintain specialised skillsets in-country, typically provided by expatriate workers."
So Alphamin is doing well to keep its operations running smoothly.
My preference is to avoid companies entirely reliant on African operations.
