There are actually a few Australian companies moving forward with "Gas To Liquids" projects.

    Q. What are these?
    A. Turning "brown" coal into usable petroleum products such as "clean" (low sulfur) diesel

Australia has an amazing amount of petroleum prone systems. It's a vast country of many petroleum prone basins. Many of these basins will hold oil, gas and coal.

Many of these basins will hold massive amounts of coal.

Where there is coal, there is potential for gas......see the recent explosion in coal seam gas?

In my opinion, the next explosion is "underground coal gasification" and "coal to liquids" plants..........high capital cost but very profitable business.

One of the by-products of these technologies is sulfur, hence MLX's interest.

Where there's coal, there's gas, and where there's gas, there's GTL capability, which has a by-product called sulfur.

BTW, there are a several prospects in Australia for this technology, so Wingellina should have no problem sourcing sulfur....locally....and cheaply.
