The appointment of Dr Joanne Sillince as Head of R &D at...

The appointment of Dr Joanne Sillince as Head of R &D at Mastitis Management Australia has certainly impressed me.

I note that after an initial stint in in private animal practice, Dr Sillince worked specifically in dairy practice,  followed by15 years in research, technical services and management, including 3 years as the medical support for Panadol.

Dr Sillince also has extensive lobbying experience through her time with the NSW Farmers Federation and Australian Chicken Growers Council.

Also of significance is Dr Sillince's media profile. She is a long standing regular of the program Pet Talk Radio (now Pet Talk People) and seems to also be a Fairfax media “go-to expert” for comment on animal health. She was quoted in The Age as recently as last week.

Dr Sillince brings to MMA a highly valuable mix of qualifications, skills, experience, networks and media savvy. Her appointment should provide further validation of both IAH and TPM and further boost IAH's profile within the animal health industry.
