Yep, it isn't my intention to hijack the thread. But you know, just for the record, it has long been my view that the environmentalist fixation on AGW was redirecting focus away from far more important and far more immediate environmental threats - like the pollution of surface and ground water, general sanitation and the immediate human environment, etc. To my thinking this has been to the overall detriment of the public good.
