Personally I think Australia is a waste of resources at the moment. It's not mature enough, so it's an uphill fight, and the payoff is minimal compared to other opportunities. I agree that it would have potential to lead to local investment through exposure, but at what cost?
If I was clicking the mouse that controlled this game, I'd be pumping most of my resources at rapid expansion of HVST, and 10-20% towards research for future medical applications.
The only thing I'd do in Australia is lobbying so it grows the f* up and gets rid of the laws that make a significant percentage of it's honest hard working citizens criminals for preferring weed over alcohol.
Once that is achieved, I'd work on capitalising on supplying the demand in this market, which has one of the highest usage rates internationally.
5-10 years from now, the companies that are focused primarily on Australia in 2018 will not be the ones siting atop of the market cap list on the ASX.
