Not sure how likely it is to occur again. A lot of the stuff a few years ago was driven by an antagonistic minister, as Stevea said above. It has quieted down a bit but there are some underlying issues of resource nationalism and environmentalism that will probably resurface again. I wouldn't be touching any company trying to develop a mine in the Philippines. An existing underground mine doesn't concern me as much.
