I wonder if there's any backwash from the swineflu epidemic washing through to TIS. Their VitroGro technology is also billed as "cell culture" and the next big thing for vaccine production is - "cell culture". Presently all infuenza vaccines are prepared using eggs - it's been this way for many years and is far from fool proof. And today on the BTA thread there's a news item about very low yields of swineflu vaccine being experienced from this egg based production technique.
That all begs the question of just who might be interested in a cell culture alternative to traditional egg methods. Maybe CSL. Makes me wonder if they've got any money?
