Very very possible that could have occurred, we now know it won't. Looking at an old Top 20, the 62 Capital Directors who were in the T20, were not in the new T20. Seems they didn't even take up their personal positions let alone their lead manager opportunity. GBs theory was a total fabrication, hardly surprising given his track record.
