The political landscape has changed !!
and boy - oh - boy, that is an understatement.
JD and others have posted sensibly regarding the upcoming judicial review. ED has relied on only two reasons, one of which, finance, as pointed out by NOPTA, is not a satisfactory reason. Public interest, as NOPTA has advised, alone, is not a valid reason.
Now to the politics. I posted prior to the election that either an LNP win or a Labor majority would be favourable to PEP-11 realted stocks.
Why ? Its politics man, politics.
Now that Labor has a majority, and a siezable one at that !
Labor has an overwhelming mandate, with no minor parties, this includes the greens and the TEALS, required to assist the passage of legislation.
The TEALS and Greens, and every other party, is now mostly irrelevant due to Labor's overwhelming mandate.
Labor does not need to appaease or horsetrade with any one, to get legislation passed the house.
Yeah, Yeah, I know people will claim Labor does not have a majority in the Senate. This is true. The Senate is the house of review. Any blocking of supply will potetnailly see Labor calling a " double dissolution". Given the huge labor win. No party will dare do this. Payman and Thorpe certainly wont as Turkeys never vote for an ealry christmas.
Labor will approve, because thay can now follow the rule of law, without the threat from a TEAL or a Green.
Get the approval done and dusted. No gas and all will be a very distant memory. Find gas and Albanese is a hero.
So here is another, superbly written and executed secen from one of my favourite films. Got nothing to do with PEP-11, just masterful art.
