I get the feeling January 2025 is going to be quite pivotal for MMR and PEP11.
The Responsible Minister, Ed Husic, is once again overdue in handing down his decision.
Once Parliament resumes in February, the forthcoming Federal election will be the focus which in my opinion means that if the ALP intends to make a decision, it will be prior to Parliament resuming. If Husic elects to stay silent in January, probability is that no decision will be made prior to the election.
Going into the election with an unfulfilled promise would be a big surprise to me but if the ALP believe they are best served deferring it, then that is what they will do.
I have recently come across what I believe are several very important pieces of the puzzle. Two pieces in particular have IMO significant relevance, and lend support to the "no decision" theory. I won't elaborate further as the enemies of PEP11 probably have eyes on HC. All I will say is that it gives me total confidence in PEP11 approval in the medium term.
