Hi Flam, that interview has proven extremely elusive. Several attempts have been made to locate it without success.
My take today on Gordon Reid's comments, and Madeleine King also made a similiar comment at the time of the appeal, is that they were being driven by the ALP caucus position, i.e. nobody in the ALP had an open mind. As far as "legal solutions" were concerned, I think the NSW pipeline ban was their "legal solution". If you have a look at the NSW Parliament footage after the vote, they are all kissing and hugging each other like they had cured cancer. The newspaper articles that followed all were themed "PEP11 is dead".
There were only two problems with the pipeline ban, it may not be legal, and it can't kill PEP11.
Once this became apparent, the ALP were forced to go down the Scomo road of reverse engineering their refusal reasons because Husic had no option under caucus but to reject the applications despite that being incompatible with the body of evidence supporting approval.
