From what we know:

China- is playing hardball and investigation on further involvement or not has only just begun, no Chinese entity will buck Chinese Gov on this one as Gov will be providing the money whoever is involved from their side.

Mitsubishi - Possible but more a counter through pre-emptive rights held via JV. Stated many times does not want to fund 100% of OPR & mine, asked Barnett to approach China.

RFC- More than likely - dummy bid knowing shareholders will not accept but forces Mitsubishi to either match or better offer and with their recent share placement at low levels a quick trade could be in the offering, why wait for it to fall over next year and get involved in a messy legal fight.
