Ah, the difference lies in the use of Pre-Tax Profit (as opposed to Operating Profit) in the calculation of how long it would take to re-pay the principle on the debt.

This makes more sense because not all Operating Profit is available to service reduction in debt principle. Pre-Tax Profit, on the other hand, arises after Interest has been paid (which it must be).

In Q3, 2017, MNK's Operating Income was $109.5m and Net Interest Expense was $93.0m, so Pre-Tax Proft was $16.5m, so $66m, on an annualised basis.

So, Net Debt of $5.7bn divided by $66m = 86 years.
