Rupert, It is not off topic at all. You said that "Lignite to bce and then to gas is the greenest future for the valley." I disagree, and thought we could have a meaningful discussion on the topic. Obviously not.
I see BM as an oppurtunity to be first to market with a BCE product with an existing mine, existing rail network and existing port with spare capacity.
The western housing corridor is possible the worst argument I have heard. This is for several reasons, there is amble land around Melton, the land is worth many magnitudes more as a profitable mine, the land was set aside by the Vic government to be a strategic resource ie a mine. The land doesnt disappear after use, it can be reclaimed.
On your last point you seem to be switching from a previous point about export markets to local markets.
