yes Lautrec, "superseeded" is a strong word which I feel is somewhat premature if not incorrect.
Exergen are obviously confident that their 3kg laboratory production runs can be repeated in the real world. I'm interested to know how tall the autoclave will be to "use gravitational head pressure" to get 100bar of pressure. Using a water column the autoclave would need to be 1km high to get 100bar of pressure. I think lignite would have a slightly lower SG than water. Is there some other force at play.
Also to bring the mix up to 300c with "a little bit of energy"? Are they creating a frictional exothermic reaction similar to coldry?
