Just some more evidence that BP and MNS are working together. I'm sure getting finance won't be a problem once feasibility studies are completed. BP had a $222Billion turn over last year.

MNS has 45% ownership of this future battery plant

Australian graphite aspirant Magnis Resources has secured a role in proposed lithium-ion battery gigafactory to be built in Germany with the backing of British energy giant BP.
Magnis chairman Frank Poullas said the Sydney company signed a memorandum of understanding with a German public-private partnership for the development of a 30 gigawatt hour lithium-ion battery factory and recycling plant in the industrial hub of Emscher-Lippe in Germany's North Rhine Westphalia region.
BP is one of the members of the WiN Emscher-Lippe GmbH (WIN) partnership and Mr Poullas said the oil and gas major had taken on "a massive role" in the project.

"The energy and oil giants see they have to adapt and get involved in this space," Mr Poullas said.

"I think you will see a greater participation by the oil giants and the energy giants out there getting into the battery space in the future. If they are not part of it they are going to miss out on a huge part of the world's future energy needs."

Under the terms of the agreement, Magnis said it would be responsible for sourcing raw materials "and associated technologies" and, along with its partners, assist in the general development and management of the project.
Mr Poullas said Magnis would also have an interest in the facility, which is targeting the German car manufacturing and energy markets.

Other WIN members include chemicals companies Evonik, INEOS, SABIC and SASOL, German power companies and a number of financial institutions and German regional governments.

A feasibility study is expected to begin before the end of 2017.

Magnis has also gained exposure to potential battery manufacturing plants in Townsville and New York. The New York consortium, of which Magnis owns one third, secured $US13.25 million in funding and grants on Wednesday.
