IMO options are stated on ASX and its well known they either expire or get converted by end of May. So IMO the increase in shares won't surprise the majority as the numbers for conversion are already known.

your second para brings us back to the basic phrase of DYOR and the shares on issue/options are not what I would call difficult to find and easy number crunch from there)
