In 2013 the us department of education provided a second round of govt funding to provide grants of 900k-1m to companies seeking to develope educational gaming ( small business innovation research grant for educational gaming developement).
The grants seek to assist in the developement of both hardware and software used in educational games.

But it also is to provide funding for research as to how edugames WILL be incorporated into the classroom.

The edugames space is really starting to heat up and is recognised by the educational system both govt and private as an important future educational tool, the us is just the starting line and the starters gun has only just been cocked, not yet fired.
No person could disagree this space is both exciting and with mammoth potential.
A lot of dots are quickly aligning.
At this time would rather already be in than not.
