Interesting news;
For those following how mobile ticketing is involving in China - recently, a pilot of mobile payment was finalised involving 200,000 passengers travelling the Fangshan line. As a result of the successful pilot Beijing metro introduced mobile ticketing across its network on 14th Aug:

Long-term shareholders will know SMA secured a partnership agreement with Chengdu Qinyu Technology Ltd over a year ago. At the time it was early days - considering the time it takes to liaise with Chinese officials and introduce new ticketing technology into existing network and systems, one cannot help wondering if we are to see some further news in this area as mobile ticketing technology is advancing across China railway (travel) network.
