Unfortunately Federal and State governments didn't take the opportunities of time to create a plan and implement it, they should have been planning and implementing early to mid last year, massive fail.
My (nurse) wife was just telling me about the ward closures at her hospital and the redeployment of staff to another hospital that is struggling with Covid-19 patients. Some staff have just found out today about the closures and redeployment (starting today), there is talk of it only being for 6 weeks, but not unusual for corporate to use this type of tactic to soften the staff up before extending the duration at a later date.
It is planned that a pod of 5 to 6 people (includes 2 trained nurses) will be looking after 5 ventilated patients, which is going to be stressful for those not experienced in this field. Recipe for disaster if more than 2 of them take a turn for the worse at the same time.
Things are going to get bad.
