Because I assume you get to a certain point, and then any more cells is either meaningless or counter productive.
The results in the elderly population did show a similar improvement in lung function for a period of 7 days, and then they followed controls after that. This may mean that because of their poor immune response, their own immune system clears the MSC's faster, or the effect is more short lived, or it may well be co-treatments that is limiting the duration of the effects in the elderly. There are lots of possibilities here.
On the basis that an affect for 7 days was observed, the simplest expansion would be to give another load of cells at day 5 or something. I am sure the company will release details on that this year.
