news has NEVER been news. Since it's inception starting with early newspapers, you only ever got the Editor's version of what he/she thought fit for public consumption. Every major news/media outlet presents only the views of the owners and their narrow understanding of the world. It's even worse now, 'News' has been transformed into entertainment.
Such perspectives apply to everything related to public information in the modern corporate-driven world. A trivial example: I recently watched a US music video where some 'expert' was giving her (favourable) opinion about one of the most famous European singers who have ever lived. Do you know what the 'expert' commentator said? "How come i've never heard of this singer before?".
I almost emailed her to say. "It's because you have always lived in America my Dear".
