This is the tolerance paradox.
In order to be tolerant, you must be intolerant of the intolerant.
If you cannot become intolerant, and you tolerate intolerance, then eventually intolerance will win.
You could probably say the same about good / evil
"This is a good society, and if we feel you are talking thinking or behaving in an evil way, we will do evil things to you. (lock you up)
