What is it about the word "dud" that you don't understand?
Once a business needs avdertising revenue to survive, it's no longer a business, it's a spruiker, hoping to hell there are some imbeciles out there willing to part with cash so that the boys and girls who run RMA can keep sucking up their salaries.
Sony on the other hand, is trying to put a brave face on a really bad decision - backing RMA. There's no dough left, so they've agreed to take worthless paper for debt - but then again they're in the business of trying to move very old and unsaleable content, so deserve to be paid in junk paper.
Forget who owns what - find a dopey wood duck quickly and unload at any price.
