    The department concerned could well look at itself and take lessons from the couple that rescued Molly. They don't need training as wildlife rehabilitation, they proved their capability. The DESI could take lessons from them. DESI should have ongoing engagement with them so that DESI can make better decisions in the future.

    "Today, the Queensland Department of the Environment, Science, and Innovation (DESI)
    posted a media release listing the conditions the couple will have to meet in order to keep custody of Molly.
    These include:
    • No ongoing commercial gain from the bird or its image
    • Undertaking wildlife carer training
    • Advocating public education to encourage people to appropriately care for native wildlife and acknowledging the specialist skills required to care for and rehabilitate wildlife
    • Ongoing engagement with DESI to ensure the bird is receiving adequate care and enrichment"
