Spot on OMG, Lynas has the dual benefit of Rhodia's deep experience + all the Chinese expertise & research and then they've stuck state of the art environmental controls on top. Not even the Chinese have done that, and retro fitting is difficult/impossible.

Something I've alluded to, but not written previously, is the strong implication that Lynas is sanctioned by China, they want Lynas to succeed. Don't ask me for the logic, I haven't figured it, but we do know NC has deep connections into China.
Rhodia (very much under Chinese influence with their two Mainland JV's) are obviously tied in closely as well, and the history goes way back to Lynas's beginnings.
"Gifting" their tech strongly suggests IMO that Lynas may have a favourite Uncle.
