You would think with the volumes that have been going through lately that a SS notice could not be too far away.

The amount is too large and sustained for day traders.

I like conspiracy theories, which hopefully this one will be shot down easily

Could the banks through their investment arms, funds etc be accumulating this to ensure that they have the votes to get the debt / equity swap across the line?

The way things are panning out they stand to make an absolute fortune as asset values recover.
