I have just worked my through the massive number of posts today, and have not seen any discussion (even mention) of magnets or markets for Lynas product.
Let me say it again - the ROW (that is the world ex China !) is NOT short of Rare Earth Ore neither (thanks to Lynas) is it currently short of separated REO.
AL has said that Lynas would go ahead with projects in the US (even without government support) BUT as things stand at present who would be their clients ? they need to see a clear path to selling their REO to some magnet maker (not including Japan) and so far we have no information on that.
If China continue to expand their Magnet making and control of supply chains (to EVs worldwide) at the same rate as the world market expands then that only leaves the Japanese market for Lynas. That market will likely grow steadily but the Lynas 2025 plan might not be so exciting.
