Hasn't had an effect in Europe? Are you serious? Forget about the increased cost of living there, lets look at the two poster boy countries, Spain and Germany.

Spain has unemployment at near 20%, the green jobs they have "created" costs about $774,000 per job since 2000. It would be cheaper to have them sit at home.

Germany spends about $200000 usd per green job subsidies a year, to have the most solar panels in the world that generates a massive 1% of the countries needs.

Can you seriously say that this is money well spent? Who do you think pays for those subsidised jobs, the tooth fairy? It comes from the government, and YOUR taxes.

If an ETS goes through, polluters will have to pass the cost on to consumers or go out of business. We will either have to pay a lot more to watch tv (which i think is what you are arguing for bongodrongo) or suffer rolling blackouts. Sounds like a great choice either way. . .
