Older people have seen repeated examples of "end of the world is nigh" thinking; all previous apocalypse predictions have passed without event. The world's people are better fed and better off than ever.

Global warming is real and is at least partly from human activities. However, it is far far cheaper, practical and more effective to concentrate on ways to deal with it, adapt to it and even take advantage of it.
It will not be the end of the world. We will certainly adapt. Worst case scenarios seem exaggerated.
