Bongodrongo, it is all very well having green technologies and feeling really good about it, but coal and fossil fuels result in cheap electricity so I have money left over to spend on other things. Your green technologies deliver expensive electricity and I will have much less money to spend on other things. Also the poor in our society will really suffer from it.
Governments cannot afford to subsidize green technologies.
By the way, Western governments tout all those green jobs to come but forget that anything to be made will gravitate to cheap labour and that is in China. There will b few green jobs in Western societies.
