Listened to a fair bit of this today. Reporters will like the bits of dirty linen but overall it appears that Mr Weeks is not denying that a lot of progress has been made. Also he mentioned that a number of key senior appointments have recently been made that they think will be important (eg culture, audit). There are some key things they would have wanted to see happen much earlier (eg, CEO appointments at the casino level) and they clearly don't agree about the extent and pace of progress in some areas.
The story emerging is that the relationship between management/board and the regulator & license manager has deteriorated. Both sides clearly could have handled their interaction with the other party better.
So far, it looks like a bit more time will be needed, some concessions on org structure will be needed and at the right time a new chair also. As a NSW taxpayer, I would like to see both sides spending more time talking properly through the issues and genuinely working together and less time writing reports and responses to each other.
